A very nice mid-late war Assmann and Sohn paratrooper badge. Made for the elite men of the German paratroopers during WW2. This example is an injection moulded wreath, marked '1' later examples would be marked '2'. The diving eagle is clearly stamped with an 'A' for Assmann and is distinguishable as an eagle design by that particular manufacturer.
