A beautiful West Wall ring commemorating service on the fortification 1939/40. During the period know as the 'phoney war' the period where Germany was securing conquests in Eastern and Northern Europe before the big swipe across France and the Low Countries in 1940. This is a small finger ring, so was probably worn by a young soldier or a very lean older serving soldier. The ring is metal, non precious and features an amber coloured glass insert. A very rare and attractive piece, West Wall enthusiasts would need this example for their collection!
