Iron Cross 1939 2nd Class maker marked on the ring 3 for Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid. This cross was de-nazified (see photos) covered in solder to conceal the swastika and reversed on the suspension ring with bearers pin. The solder was successfully removed without damaging any of the cross, however it did leave a silver finish to the swastika and also a duller appearance around the central part of the frame, as not all of the solder was successfully removed and has left all but a thin layer of tin over the silver frame work. The areas in between the arms of the swastika have been carefully repainted with a close matching black paint. Other than that the cross retains its original paint finish. This is a very nice and affordable maker marked item! With an interesting history up to the present day.
